Kirtland’s first par 5 is a birdie hole with a drive in the fairway. Out-of-bounds looms down the entire right side of the hole and must be avoided. After a drive in the fairway, a decision must be made whether to carry the cross bunker about 70 yards short of the green or lay-up and leave a wedge third shot. Be sure your approach carries onto the green as a false front on the left side will cause balls to spin back about 20 yards short and leave a difficult pitch back to the green.
